The Calorie Myth: A Conversation With Jonathan Bailor

Jonathan Bailor is the author of the new book The Calorie Myth. This is one of the three books I suggested you read this year. Not because I agree with everything in it, but because in my mind it is essential reading to understand. Read more on why I recommend you read many diet books and not just one here.

Jonathan and I have become close over the last couple years. We often get on the line and talk shop related to education around health and fitness.

I wanted to give Metabolic Effect followers and blog readers a glimpse into the Jonathan I know. The one who is extremely passionate about making a difference in people's health.

In this interview I asked him all the questions the book critics will. So that he could answer these things the way he does when he is away from the quick sound bites and marketing that are required in the world of popular media.

Here are some things we cover:

  • What exactly is the calorie myth? Are you saying calories don't matter?
  • What do you say to people who say you are just trying to sell books?
  • What do you say to people who say you are just making nutrition complicated?
  • What exactly are you saying we should eat?
  • What about the calorie zealots and research zombies who will attack this book just because that is what they do?
What does "understanding the science" really mean?
  • and more.........
