Another step along my healthy living journey!
My healthy living goals do not end with this competition. The ME competition has served as a great springboard for my healthy future. When a friend called and told me about the Metabolic Effect (ME) Challenge, I was very intrigued. I decided to join the ME challenge because I needed and wanted some additional help with my healthy living plan. My current healthy living plan was becoming stagnate and monotonous. As someone familiar with ME, I knew that the lectures, healthy tips, and support from the ME team would be world class. Just as I thought the ME team delivered all of that and more. The lectures throughout the competition have really helped me focus on my eating habits and thinking about my daily healthy choices. Because of my story, I also know that unhealthy habits die hard. At one point in my life I weighed 376 lbs and I am happy to say that at the end of this contest I weigh 287.2lbs. I have lost 24.6 lbs, 6.5inches, and 4% of my body fat. I know that I am still a big guy but I am a big guy that is getting healthier every day and refocused for my future. The beauty of the ME challenge is that this competition was designed for the every day person. In our fast-paced society, it always seems that no one has “enough time” in the day. ME really reinforces to everyone that we make time for what is important and that with 30 minutes a day of exercise and healthy eating we can become healthier. This competition has continued to help me make healthy living a common conversation topic and focus in my life. In choosing to be healthier, I know that some days are going to be better than others, but the ME challenge has reinforced the importance of getting back up when I make poor choices and trying harder the next day. Every day I wake up I have to tell myself that I must make healthy choices for myself and those that love me. I have been re-energized by the ME contest to continue on my healthy journey and to continue to tell my story to others. I did not meet all of my goals for this challenge, but I know the journey doesn’t stop at the end of the10 weeks. It is a life long journey. The contest helped me refocus on my food choices and continue to educate myself along the competition. I truly love ME because at the end of the day it really is all about me. Healthy living is a choice that anyone can make with the right motivation and determination. The choice to live healthy is not always an easy choice but the tips from the 10 week ME challenge have equipped me to make better decisions in the future.
