From 4.5 hours a day to 4.5 hours a week:
Tara Ballard's story is a little different from most people looking for body change. She was already fit and worked as a group exercise instructor at her gym. She was an "aerobic junkie" logging between 8 and 10 hours a week running, 5 hours of teaching spin class a week and did another 5 hours a week of "toning" classes. Tara's body type is what we refer to as a "muscle burner". This refers to the fact that her hormone balance leaned more toward the stress side of the equation. Her body was burning muscle to supply the her metabolism with sugar.
She became a Metabolic Effect group personal trainer in November 2008. At that time she was introduced to short duration metabolic conditioning workouts. She started working with Jill Coleman our Director of Instructor Training in January of 2009. With her new style of training she went from a total of 4.5 hours a day to just over 4 hours of exercise in a week. She switched the emphasis of her workouts to 30-minute Metabolic Effect style weight training workouts and 30 minute interval training cardio along with walking. Over a period of 3 months she saw her body fat % go from 18% to 13% while actually gaining a little weight, building muscle, and developing firmness and tone through her body.
Tara is now a Metabolic Effect Group Exercise Instructor certified in our indoor and outdoor methods as well as a Metabolic Effect certified personal trainer. Click here to learn more about Tara Ballard and her trainer Jill Coleman.
