The Metabolic Effect Online Class scheduling system is a tool for Metabolic Effect Independent Contractors that will help you organize and manage your classes from one central location without having to handle cash or payments on site. This allows you to focus on teaching and not class management. Students purchase credits for as little as $5/credit through our web site and use them to reserve their place in your class.
The system allows you to:
- Schedule multiple sessions up to 13 weeks in advance with one click
- Set the number of credits you wish to charge for a class
- Manage class minimums and maximums
- Allow a student to “buyout” a class (see below)
- View the class roster
- Interact with your classes by email
- Cancel classes
- Refund credits for cancelled classes
- View your class history
The "Class Buyout" feature allows a student to ensure that your class minimum is met by using credits to meet the minimum. For example: You have scheduled a class that costs 2 credits and has a class minimum of 5 students a student will be presented an option to use 10 credits to buyout the class (2 credits x minimum number of students 5). As additional students enroll this student’s credits will be refunded, always ensuring that you will get at least 10 credits for your class and that the class will not cancel.
In addition, the system will automatically do the following:
- Cancel classes that have not met the minimum enrollment 12 hours prior to the class and email both your and the students
- Email students and refund their credits when you cancel a class
Costs: As an Independent Contractor you are granted use of the scheduling system at no cost for your first location. Each additional location you add requires a $25 one-time administrative setup fee.
Payment: Every other Sunday we calculate your net credits for classes during the prior 2 weeks. Net credits are calculated as the total number of credits students have used for your classes less any credits you refunded. We will then deduct 10% of the net credits to cover transactional and administrative costs. For example: During the 2 week period that just ended, your students used a total of 100 credits on your classes. However, you refunded 10 credits leaving you with a net of 90 for the period. Of those 90, you will be paid for 81 ($405) and Metabolic Effect will keep 9 ($45).
Note: Metabolic Effect reserves the right to revoke access to the scheduling system for any reason, including, but not limited to abuse or misuse of the system, customer complaints, and negative reviews. Every effort will be made to help resolve these issues, which may result in deducting credits from your balance to resolve customer service issues.
