soy lecithin

Hi,

I have been shopping around and looking at protein powders. When reading the ingredients list, often mentioned is soy lecithin. On page 202 of your book, it is mentioned why it is a good idea to avoid soy. Is soy lecithin an ingredient to avoid? The staff at the nutrition store say it should be OK. But I would like to get feedback from the you.

I found the Jay Robb Egg White Protein mentioned by another person on this forum and soy lecithin is a listed ingredient.

Maybe I'm making this harder than it should be?? Your feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Soy lecithin is ubiquitous in the food supply and is derived from soy. It is not a huge issue and should not be avoided. Lecithin has some very helpful qualities. It is also important to realize nothing is ALL bad. THe reason we raise a bit of a flag with soy is that it is generally considered A HEALTHFOOD AND INNOUR CLINICAL PRACTICE WE HAVE SEEN IT BE AN ISSUE IF OVERCONSUMED. So, a small amount of soy is fine, it just should not be used as a staple in the diet in our opinion and if you are after fat loss it may be even more important to avoid.
